Gooder Than Hell!

A lot of people would dismiss this album outright as some dried-up remnant of a musical era that wasn’t that fertile to start with. Others will acknowledge it as a “guilty pleasure,” especially the big hit “Stroke Me.”

I’m not down with the whole concept of guilty pleasures. Why should I feel guilty about listening to something that brings me happiness? My message to the haters and music snobs: Suck it.

“In the Dark” is totally awesome, as is “My Kinda Lover.” “Stroke Me” is a bit played out for me at this point, but still impossible to resist on some primal level. Outstandinger than hell.

You know what else I’ve totally been in the mood for lately? .38 Special. Especially that “so caught up in you, little girl,” song, whatever the name was. Love that song. Gotta go buy me a .38 Special best-of today.
